My new controller had been in a total of 3 days and it may be ruined.

I figured out my brake light problem. My controller was full of water.

It must have a poor seal somewhere. It rained pretty hard for a day, but I wouldnt think the water would have much of a chance to get to the controller.

It is very frustrating after all the time waiting to get the controllers ready to go.

No idea how much damage was done.

Im packing it up to send back to Solectria with hopes it can be repaired.

Man, I'm really sorry to hear this, Terry. Good luck getting it fixed.

Any indication where the water could possibly have come from?

Did the guy that milled off the heat sink try to cool it by dipping it in water while milling it? What a bummer!!! Mad

Is the other one dry? It's kind of hard to imagine that one would be totally wet and the other dry when they were both installed the same.

I had not installed the second one yet. Im waiting to get one more cooling fan that was shorted in my order. I am installing 6 smaller and shorter fans in place of the two larger and taller fans.

I will go over all the seams in the second controller to insure there are no leaks in that one.

I really dont think the machinist got water in it. He was told very clearly no water or other liquid could be used for lubrication or cooling.

The night I installed the controller we had very heavy rain and very strong winds for hours. I suspect there was a smail opening in one of the seams and just the right conditions forced water in.

I didnt even have a chance to see if changing the wires on the controller would make it go forward instead of reverse and vice versa.

My real concern at this point is what if my "wet" controller is beyond repair. I have been searching for a spare UMOC445 for months with no luck.

Jacob, that contact for UMOC's, does he have any AMC controllers or NLG chargers?

Do you know where he is located?
