Hello Everybody:

I understand the Solectrias have an instrument cluster without the 'usual' S-10 instruments (Oil pressure etc.). Does anybody know where to get those units or, how to get a face plate (for the lack of a better word) so I could exchange it in my convertion S-10 cluster?

Thanks a lot.

Howdy Michaela,
My name is Phil and we just recently got our first EV, an E-10. So, I am just starting to educate myself on EV systems. But, I did run into a web site at:

They have the Instrument Clusters you are asking about.

Hey Phil:

I just contacted them and they don't have that. I also contacted Solectria and asked them .. but again, no luck. So - If somebody can help me with a (dead?) cluster or face, drop me a line.

Hmmm. My instrument cluster was dead when the truck showed up. It turned out to be one of the fuses on the left side of the dashboard. Have you checked that?

My instrument cluster is just the standard S-10 unit, but they simply removed the Oil Pressure and fuel gauge indicators and stuck black covers over the holes where they had been.

On mine, the only instrument left is the voltage indicator. Is that working on yours? If neither it nor the speedometer are working, I'd definitely check the "instruments" fuse in that left-side fusebox.

Thomas:

My instrument cluster is just fine. It was dead when I got the truck because somebody removed the PCM (my truck is a 'normal' conversion). I had to directly connect the speed sensor to the speedo using a signal converter.

However, I'd like to get rid of those 'Fuel', 'Oil' and 'Water' gauges. And I thought that Solectria may have had instrument clusters or 'faces' to cover those unneeded gauges.
